Partner for Surgery is a non-profit organization that facilitates access to quality healthcare and education for those who need it most in rural Guatemala. Their organization already had a logo and branding elements in place designed by the talented designers at Contrast & Co.

Their challenge was utilizing the brand correctly and efficiently. In collaboration with Dharma Pachner, the Chief Creative Officer of Contrast & Co., we ventured out to fully activate Partner for Surgery’s brand to create a consistent visual appearance and language across all their mediums.

With their brand colors and logo already established, we began to explore how the elements can successfully translate across digital and physical mediums. No matter where their brand appears, it was important for them to present themselves in a consistent and distinct way. This meant utilizing the core three brand colors properly, expanding the usage of the monogram as a separate brand element with countless use-cases, and correctly implementing powerful imagery.

The bird monogram is a powerful brand tool that can boldly stand alone as a distinguishable identity for Partner for Surgery. The monogram is highly scaleable, allowing easy usage for different contextual circumstances. As small as a mark at the top of a social media post, to a fully enlarged, half-cut version, the mark remains easily legible and recognizable.

With the colors already established, the job is not finished there. It is crucial to utilize the brand colors properly in order to create texture, intrigue, and maintain breathability in the design. Teal and white were decided as the main prominent colors, with the bright green used as accent pieces. With this rule in place, the green can contrast powerfully with the teal to create emphasis and lead the eye to important information.

With all of this coming together, Partner for Surgery will continue to appear more professional and obtain the recognition they deserve for their crucial work done in rural Guatemala.
